LEAP Scholars Update

LEAP scholars from NTC, Roxelle Sobrido and Mico Largo, started this week their second semester classes for the year 2014-2015.  They have rendered an outstanding performance in the first semester, Mico’s general weighted average was B (88-90%), and Roxelle’s was B+ (91-94%).  As in the past, they submitted their accomplishment reports for the 1st semester, highlights of which were:

Mico

Was elected VP of their Society of Young Business Administrators Club which conducted various activities that include a Frosh Night, 4th National Education Forum, Students’ Night Macroeconomics Monitoring Board and Faculty Development Program.  He also participated in other school activities like Accountancy Day and Tanggol Wika.  As a result of his being VP of his Club, he said he learned more things about himself, and his skills and confidence were developed.

In addition, Mico and Roxelle attended the seminar/symposium LEAP conducted at NTC in September.  To quote part of his report, he said, “we are so motivated to continue achieving our goals and dreams, and we were given a chance to thank (our benefactors)”.

Roxelle

She and her group conducted office visitation for their subject Office Automation.  They went to the National Library and the UST library to observe their systems and they presented their observations to a panel that included their professors and the college dean.  Roxelle was adjudged 2nd  “Best Presenter” and her group was adjudged 3rd “Best Presenter”.  She also participated in their department’s book donation and book reading event for children in Sta. Mesa, Manila.  There were two seminars she attended last semester.

It is significant to note as well that Roxelle got a grade of A (97-100%) in her subject Advance Office Procedures. In addition, Roxelle is currently an OJT in Tintin Cobrero’s office in Usana.

Finally, LEAP reconnected with our contact at Heroes Foundation and we reiterated our intention to renew our support for their scholars.  We are awaiting for the list of their scholars who are taking up courses in business.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone for their continued support to our scholars and for their help in fulfilling our mission of sustaining our profession.

All the best for the coming year!
