Shortly before the opening of classes this year, LEAP members once again trouped to the Hapay na Mangga Elementary School in Taytay, Rizal. The members – some with their families in tow – brought with them school supplies, snack items and assorted give-aways for 37 children whom the members are personally putting through elementary school. Special thanks for the goodies go to Rose Escueta, Luz Canivel, Liz Fernandez, Tintin Cobreros, Arlene Coronel, and Joe Umali.
Now on its third year, this CSR activity led by chairperson Erlynne Figueroa, was started with 25 children in grade two getting free education through the voluntary support from LEAP members. The school teachers for their part are likewise exerting extra effort in seeing that the children receive a good basic education.
It is remarkable to note how this gift of education is making a difference in the lives of the children. They and their respective families realize that with their enthusiasm and commitment, these children can look forward to a better future.
